Kerr MacMillan Jacobite*
Lamont MacMillan, Ancient Caledonia*

*Jacobite and Caledonia are considered "general" tartans and suitable for use by Scots who have no clan connection.

The Jacobite tartan, predominantly yellow and red with green accent striping, is supposed to have been popular in 1707 when Lowlanders wore it as a protest against the Union of the Parliament. This tartan was also worn by a participant in the Jacobite Rising of 1715.

The Caledonia tartan, predominantly red and green with yellow and white accent striping, was also popular during the 18th century, but its precise origins are unknown.
